Casa Museo Xul Solar

In 1954, Xul Solar bought his house at the confluence of the Luján River and the Villanueva Channel in Tigre. 'Li-Tao', as he called it, is a conjunction between her partner's nickname and 'Tao', a Chinese word signifying 'path'. Versatile in all disciplines, curious about all arcana, he designed the spaces, manufactured the furniture and designed the outdoor areas creating around the house a forest of taxodium, plum trees and casuarinas. He was an unusual character. He led a distinctive way of life: he was a fine artist, astrologer, writer and translator (he spoke several languages), as well as inventor of new languages, namely, the 'Neo-Creole' - a language he created for Latin America - and the 'Pan-Language', based on astrological numbers and signs. During his stay in Tigre, Xul also invented 'grafías plastiútiles' [plastiuseful writings], another code that can be observed in many of his works. The Pan Klub Foundation and the Municipality of Tigre equipped this house-museum and the interpretation center, to publicize the artist's life and thoughts.
